Cycling through Bordeaux's vineyard

Topographically unchallenging, cycling around Bordeaux’s vineyards is achievable for even the most hesitant cyclist. Dedicated paths are mapped throughout and most companies include bike hire in their offer. Among the most popular routes: the Roger Lapébie greenway, the Vélodyssée, the Canal du Midi...

Many package tours are planned over 6 days with daily distances of up to 40km but fortunately a luggage transport service is also provided. One popular day ride begins in Blaye and following a ferry across the Gironde estuary, cyclists head south through the famous vineyards of the Médoc before arriving in Bordeaux.  1 day guided cycle tours around the vineyards of Saint-Emilion are also possible, featuring wine tastings and a château lunch.
