Food markets on Bordeaux's wine routes

It is hard to visit a food market in Bordeaux area and not be tempted to taste what’s on offer by the colourful sights and smells. Differents sorts are here to seduce you including flea markets, antiques markets, food markets and farmers markets.

Most are only held on certain days as stall holders and producers often display in one or more town. At many, stalls of fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, charcuterie and flowers are interspersed with hawkers selling clothing and jewellery. Covered markets such as the Capucins Market in Bordeaux are tamely restricted to a defined area whereas the like of the street markets of Libourne, Cadillac and Castillon snake along side streets, spilling into the main squares.

From Montalivet to the market of Cap Ferret, let yourself be tempted by a tasting of oysters or come to mingle with people of Bordeaux, one Sunday morning, on the market of Chartrons,.
