Festivals along Bordeaux's wine routes

Happen to be visiting Saint-Emilion in September and chances are you’ll witness the annual Vintage Festival when members of the local wine brotherhood – Jurade – parade through the town in their traditional crimson robes. Once the harvest is completed, Bordeaux hosts the ‘So Good’ festival, targeting epicureans and in practice, pairing wines of the region with its gastronomy via dishes prepared by guest chefs, some of whom are Michelin-starred. Other food and wine festivals are more targeted and include the celebration of the lamprey eel, featuring demonstrations of preparation techniques and the white asparagus festival in Blaye, both are in April. Do not forget to consult the agenda of Bordeaux and its region.
