Many wine lovers are interested in art and therefore châteaux increasingly invite painters, sculptures and photographers to exhibit.
Spaces regularly used for temporary exhibitions include the tasting room at Château Palmer and the old winery at Château Lynch Bages, both of which have a preference for international artists. Others favour up-and-coming names, with an exhibition by Audrey Pol in the wine shop in Château Pape Clément testament of the owner’s commitment to young talent. In certain cases, the art is permanently displayed, amongst the vines and wine vats at Château Smith Haut Lafitte or the famous wine labels of Château Mouton Rothschild.
